Frequently Asked Questions

Straight Answers, No Jargon

Common questions about how Touch Domain works, what's included, and how to get started.

Five things, all under one roof: brand identity (logos, colour, typography), web design, digital content (graphics, video, copy), website hosting and email, and custom app development. Most agencies specialise in one of these — we do all five as one coherent identity, with the same team supporting you after launch.

No. If you already have a website elsewhere, or don't have one yet, our Email tiers give you a professional @yourdomain inbox on its own, no website required. If you want a full site hosted too, that's a separate set of Hosting tiers, which include email as part of the package.

Yes — that's exactly what the email plans are for. No website needed. Email Starter (R35/month) gives you 5 email accounts and 5GB of storage; Email Team (R65/month) gives 15 accounts and 10GB; Email Business (R99/month) gives 30 accounts, 20GB and priority support. The storage is shared by all the accounts on the plan. Every plan includes webmail, access from your phone or laptop mail app, spam filtering, virus scanning, and daily backups kept for 14 days. Email plans don't include website hosting.

Every hosting plan includes a free .co.za domain for the first year, free SSL, spam filtering and virus scanning, daily backups, unlimited bandwidth, and email accounts on your own domain — your website and email on one monthly bill. Foundation (R89/month): 8GB storage, 10 email accounts, 2 databases, backups kept 14 days. Growth (R159/month): 15GB, 25 email accounts, 5 databases, backups kept 14 days. Priority (R249/month): 20GB, 50 email accounts, 2 websites, 10 databases, Redis caching for faster sites, backups kept 30 days, and priority support. Storage is shared by your website and all your email accounts. Every web design package includes the first 2 months of hosting free, counted from the day your site goes live.

Yes. Hosting and email plans run month to month on a short agreement you sign in your client portal, with no minimum term. To cancel, give us 30 days' written notice (an email is fine) and we'll stop billing after that. If you want to move elsewhere, we'll help you take your website, email and domain with you — the domain is registered in your name, so it's yours either way.

Your domain (your web address, e.g. yourbusiness.co.za) and your hosting (the space where your website and email live) are two separate things. When you take a hosting plan, we register your .co.za for free for the first 12 months. After that, a domain has to be renewed every year to stay yours, and from year two the renewal costs R109 per year. It's billed once a year, separately from your monthly hosting fee. We send the renewal invoice 30 days before the domain expires, so you have time to pay. If it isn't paid by the expiry date, the domain can lapse, and your website and email addresses stop working until it's renewed. After a lapse, someone else may be able to register the name. The domain is registered in your name or your business's name, so it belongs to you. The same applies to .org.za, .net.za and .web.za. Prefer another extension? .com is R349 per year, .net, .org and .africa are R299, and we also offer city domains (.capetown, .durban, .joburg) from R229 plus .info, .co.uk, .biz, .mobi and .online — the same price every year. You can check which names are available when you order. Email-only plans don't include a free domain: use one you already own, or register a new one at the yearly price.

Nothing gets switched off. If you reach your plan's storage or email account limit, we let you know and help you either clear out old files and email or move up to the next plan. Upgrading takes effect straight away, and your website and email stay exactly as they are.

Yes. Your website and email are backed up every day with Acronis, and restore points are kept for 14 days on Foundation and Growth, 30 days on Priority, and 14 days on email plans. If something goes wrong or gets deleted by accident, tell us and we'll restore it for you.

We build Progressive Web Apps (installable, offline-capable, no app store required) and fully custom web applications with real business logic — user accounts, dashboards, payment integration, and more. We don't currently build native iOS or Android apps.

You can choose one of our set packages for simplicity, or use our quote tool to fully customise a solution across branding, web design, content, hosting, and apps, and get an instant estimate before you talk to us.

Whatever you order — a website, branding, content, hosting or an app — the steps are the same: 1. We contact you within one business day to confirm what you need and answer questions. 2. You get an invite to your client portal, where you review and sign the agreement online: a service agreement for once-off projects, or a month-to-month hosting agreement for hosting and email. 3. You pay the deposit by EFT and upload the proof in the portal: projects under R15,000 are 60% to start and 40% before launch; bigger projects are 50% to start and the rest in two stages. Hosting and email are billed monthly, and the first 2 months are free with a web design package. 4. You answer a short onboarding questionnaire in the portal, tailored to your service, so we have what we need to start. 5. We do the work and share drafts for your feedback (two rounds of revisions per deliverable are included); a typical website goes live about five weeks after signing, and app timelines are agreed in your agreement after a scoping call. Hosting and email are set up once your payment reflects, and we connect your email on your phone. 6. We launch or hand over, then stay on call: websites get 30 days of aftercare, and you'll see your invoices, files and progress in the portal the whole way through.

That's exactly what our free consultation is for. Tell us a bit about where you're starting from and what you're hoping to achieve, and we'll point you toward the right package — or tell you honestly if you don't need everything you were considering.

No. We work with South African SMEs wherever they're based, not just in major metros.

Yes — this is a core part of how we work. Because we also host what we build, we stay involved after launch rather than handing over a finished site and disappearing. Ongoing Care Plan retainers are also available if you want us actively maintaining and updating your site over time.

Care Plans cover ongoing site maintenance after launch, in three tiers. Basic covers site oversight, security updates, and minor content edits each month. Growth includes everything in Basic, plus regular social content support (roughly two posts a week). Scale includes everything in Growth, plus an ongoing SEO retainer and monthly performance reporting.

These are standalone monthly retainers for businesses that want ongoing content or SEO work without full site maintenance. The Content Retainer delivers a recurring batch of social graphics and captions each month. The SEO Retainer covers ongoing on-page and technical SEO work. Note that Care Plan Scale already includes an SEO retainer — you wouldn't need both.

If we're hosting it, that's on us to sort out, and there's one team to call rather than juggling a separate designer, host, and email provider. Hosting plans include daily backups specifically so a problem doesn't mean losing your content.
